Bataan earns top rating in DILG child protection assessment

The Province of Bataan received an Ideal Functionality rating in the FY 2026 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the highest level of recognition in the said assessment.

The LCPC Functionality Assessment is a DILG mechanism that evaluates how well local government units are carrying out their mandated responsibilities in promoting and protecting the rights and welfare of children across their jurisdictions.

In Bataan, 10 municipalities and Balanga City received the Ideal Functionality rating, while the Municipality of Limay, attained Mature Functionality. Such rating reflects the commitment of the Province’s local government units in implementing effective programs, policies, and services for the protection and welfare of children in their respective communities.

Governor Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III expressed his sincere gratitude to all local officials, civil society organizations, and communities across the province in continuing to build a safer and more child-friendly Bataan.
