Barangays undergo 1Bataan seal retooling

Barangay officials pledged to participate in the promotion of safer and cleaner barangays as Provincial Health Officer Dr. Rosanna Buccahan presented the revised tool for the 1Bataan Seal of Healthy Barangay to be utilized in the validation starting March.

This program seeks to provide incentives to barangays who can implement a set of activities within their localities that is in line with the standards and tools set by the validators. Each barangay winner will receive 50 thousand pesos to be utilized to improve their communities’ health, wellness, and sanitation.

During a meeting with barangay officials, Dr. Buccahan emphasized that this move makes the validation of efforts being implemented within the barangays easier, eliminate possible tampering of documentation and simplify the reporting process. Furthermore, this initiative becomes an opportunity to showcase their respective barangays’ best health practices instead of merely an act of compliance. Contributed By Maricel Candela
