To control pests in livestock animals, the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian led by Dr. Alberto Venturina, in cooperation with the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association – Central Luzon Chapter provided free veterinary services and practical strategies during the ‘Oplan Ginhawa Hayop,’held last May 28. Over 50 farm animals in Pilar underwent diagnostic and rational deworming.
“Ang pinakakalaban po ng ating mga hayop ay parasites, both internal and external. Hindi po kami basta nag-purga ng hayop, ito po ay dumaan sa mga examination,” Venturina shared.
The activity continued with a symposium held at Lou-is Resort and Restaurant to discuss in-depth analysis on pest and disease management of ruminants such as goats, sheep, cows, and carabaos.
Vice Gov. Cris Garcia, Board Member Angel Sunga, Board Member Popoy Del Rosario, along with veterinarians and experts from Region 3 as well as local farmers and organizations attended the said event. | Contributed by JOHN MICHAEL PASACUBILLO
