In celebration of the National Cooperative Month, the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office, led by OIC-Department Head Ludivina Banzon, conducted various activities at the Bataan People’s Center last Friday, October 6, 2023,

“Sa araw na ito, nagtitipon tayo hindi lamang upang magdiwang, kundi upang magbigay-pugay at bigyan ng pagkilala ang mahalagang papel ng mga kooperatiba sa pag-unlad at pag-angat ng ating probinsya,” Ms. Banzon said.

Games like ‘Minute to Win It’ and ‘Sing it to Win It’ kept the members engaged and entertained during the whole-day program. Prizes ranging from P300 to P5,000 from different sponsors triggered the competitive spirit of local entrepreneurs.

During the program, Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Regional Director for Central Luzon, Ms. Marieta Hwang thanked the Province’s initiatives and support for their Agency in implementing its programs and promised that CDA will also be there for Bataan in return.

The Cooperative Month Celebration of Bataan kickstarted with the opening of Galing! Bataan Trade Fair last October 3, and official search for the next Galing! Bataan Logo was announced on Governor Joet Garcia’s Facebook page as early as October 1. On October 17, the PCEDO will hold the Business Opportunity and Taxation for Cooperatives Seminar at The Bunker, while on October 26, the Annual Galing! Bataan Awards will be held at the Bataan People’s Center, along with the launch of the new Galing! Bataan logo. Said celebration is in accordance with Republic Act No. 11502, declaring October as “National Cooperative Month” with this year’s theme: Cooperatives: Pioneering the Path to Recovery Amidst Modern Challenges of Climate Change and Food Security.
