With the amended charter, RA 11453, expanding the Freeport area anywhere in Bataan, AFAB Administrator Emmanuel Pineda sees the opportunity to organize the LGU”s via an Investment Congress to make them aware of the different potentials they have in their municipalities, that will serve as an eye opener for another ecozone.
Engr. Pineda said that, he already has the nod of Gov. Abet regarding the project since he wants the people to find jobs within their communities, and the investment congress will make the officials more aware of the human resources, skills, physical feature they have in their respective municipalities that can help start and establish a business.
He mentioned Samal town as an example saying, they can start with kapis, from kapis farming, to harvesting, processing – kapis tracing, manufacturing, packaging to name a few.
Pineda added that if this can be pursued and establish partnership with TESDA to hone the skills of the people to be globallly competitive then we can have local product for exports and later an ecozone in the future.
