Balanga fetes outstanding citizens

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon led the awarding of 10 outstanding citizens of this city for their contributions to the community.

The annual Dangal Balangueno Award or the 2017 Gabi ng Parangal Para sa mga Natatanging Balangueno was held at the Plaza Mayor De Balanga on Thursday, April 20.

This year’s awardees are Atty. Victor De Dios (law), Dr, Francisco Pascual (medicine), Dr. Carolina Violeta (education), Engr. Nelson Andres (engineering), Rolando Dizon (government service), Maricel Galura (charity), Estrella De Mesa (business), Aurora Estrella (women), Antonio Balboa (agriculture), and Carlos Ramos (art).

“These are the men and women who excelled in their respective fields and continued to bring reforms in the society”, said the city mayor during the ceremony. For her part, the vice mayor said, “They inspire us to become good and productive citizens”.

Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, department heads, and families of the awardees joined the awarding ceremony.

Dangal Balangueno is a highlight of the yearly Fiestang Balangueno activities.
