Abucay Mayor Eric Martel disclosed that Charoen Pokphand Foods Philippines Corporation (CPF) is set to establish a 40-hectare full-scale poultry business in the municipality with an investment amounting to P500 million.
Martel said the project is expected to supply poultry products to major food chains including McDonald’s, Jollibee Foods Corporation, and S&R Membership Shopping. He said development of the project has already started with earthmoving activities now ongoing in the area.
CPF already operates a business in nearby Samal through the Charoen Pokphand Foods Philippines Corporation Aqua Feed Mill, which is engaged in the production of aquaculture and animal feeds.
Martel said the new investment is expected to generate employment opportunities and boost economic activity in Abucay while strengthening the municipality’s agricultural and food production sector. More investors are expressing strong interest in investing in Abucay under Martel leadership.
