BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan provincial government has earmarked P 170 million for the construction, repair and maintenance of some 100 classrooms for public elementary and high schools and other supplementary facilities this year.
Engineer Enrico Yuzon, Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) chief, said out of the 100 classrooms targeted this year, 84 of them were already completed and ready for occupancy in the opening of classes next week while 14 others are expected to be finished before the end of December, 2016.
Yuzon explained out of the 12 information, communication and technology (1CT) buildings purposely intended for the Department of Education (DepEd) K-12 program are also ready for the new enrollees.
He pointed out that Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia is wholeheartedly exerting generous incentives to public teachers and officials to ensure that the students continue their excellent performance in the yearly National Achievement Test.
He said Governor Garcia is encouraging the education sector to pursue the scholastic status of the residents by maintaining the highest human development index to achieve the vision of eco-industrial development.
Yuzon stressed that under the Special Educational (SEF) Fund program, about 10,600 pieces of furniture and fixtures worth P 20 million would be distributed to different public schools in the province namely fabrication of 236 blackboards, teachers chairs and tables and 12,415 armchairs for students.
