Aimed at empowering Bataeño learners to become productive citizens imbued with the right perspective of healthy living, the Provincial Government of Bataan, in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) Bataan, Provincial Health Office (PHO), Health Promotion Board City of Balanga, and Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital launched the Healthy School Settings Program with the theme, “Healthy Paaralan para sa Malusog at Matatag na KaBATAAN” last January 31 and February 1, at Mabatang Elementary School in Abucay and Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School in Pilar, respectively.

To achieve its goal, the program contains various activities such as: • Serving healthy lunches to the students once a week • JumpTok Interschool Dance Challenge • Nutrition Curriculum for MAPEH and TLE • Tobacco Free Generation Contextualized Curriculum for Grade 10 MAPEH teachers • Contextualized curriculum for Grade 8 TLE teachers • Peer Facilitators Training for Student Leaders • Mental Health Program • PhilHealth Konsulta 1st encounter • Gulayan sa Paaralan and Pusong Pinoy, Larong Pinoy.

Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III together with DepEd Bataan SDS Dr. Roland Fronda, Dr. Rossana Buccahan, Vice Governor Ma. Cristina Garcia, and school principals led the said event. Next launching will be at Calungusan Elementary School in Orion and Tucop Integrated School in Dinalupihan on February 14 and 15, respectively. |
