Bataan PPO launches I-Patroller

CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan – The Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) led by its provincial director, Senior Supt. Benjamin Silo Jr. on Friday formally launched the I-Patroller project for the police and barangays in the province.

Bataan second district representative Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III graced the event along with Bataan mayors Gila Garcia of Dinalupihan, Antonio Raymundo of Orion, and Efren Pascual Jr. of Orani. Hermosa acting administrator Atty. Joseph Mario Sabado represented Mayor Jopet Inton while Supt. Crizalde Conde, Mariveles police chief represented Mayor Ace Jelo Concepcion.

 

Village chiefs from the above mentioned towns were also present. Atty. Silo emphasized the use of social media in implementing this program using SMS, Facebook and other internet sites in soliciting and information dissemination, and applying immediate response and solutions from petty to serious crimes in all 237 barangays (villages) of the province.

 

I-Patroller’s specific objectives include an eye visibility in all major barangays, subdivisions, villages and places of convergence; reporting and suppression of illegal activities and city/municipal law violators; and anti-criminality watch.

 

It also aims to set strategic concepts and operational guidelines as well as contingency plan to ensure the utmost safety and security of Bataan citizens and its visitors and undertake coordinated courses of action necessary to prevent, contain and neutralize persons from inflicting any harm upon people especially during nighttime.

 

A group of policemen were assigned by the BPPO to do the task as undercover in different barangays taking photos and videos of any situations in every barangay then will send it to their respective chief of police, provincial directors and LGU chiefs.

 

The mayors and village chiefs will then receive the information, photos and videos for their immediate actions. Motorcycles and smartphones for the said project will be issued to respective individuals.

 

The project was first implemented in Balanga City during Cong. Joet’s time as city mayor. It will initially be implemented in Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Mariveles and Orion towns.
