BPSU holds blessing of College of Medicine

Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) marked a major step toward the establishment of the province’s first College of Medicine with the blessing and inauguration of its facilities at the BPSU Main Campus on January 26.

The ceremony was led by Rev. Fr. Noel Nuguid and attended by Governor Joet Garcia, Vice Governor Cris Garcia, BPSU President Ruby B. Santos-Matibag, Vice President for Academic Affairs Jaime Forbes, and incoming College of Medicine Dean Dr. Red Mendoza, signaling the university’s readiness for the launch of its medical program.

University officials said the College of Medicine is expected to make medical education more accessible and affordable for Bataeños, particularly for students who aspire to become doctors but previously needed to study outside the province.

Once operational, the program is projected to help develop homegrown doctors who will serve local communities, supporting Bataan’s long-term goal of strengthening healthcare services and expanding inclusive, quality education for future generations.
