Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) is considered the mango research center of the province.
University Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Services Dr. Hermogenes Paguia has been leading the mango research studies that saw productive growth of mango farming in Bataan and even nearby provinces for the past decade.
It will be remembered that Paguia’s paper, “Improvement of Mango Production through Science and Technology Innovations and Support Mechanisms for Capacity Development in Bataan and Zambales” has recently been adjudged finalist in the Development Category of PCAARRD Best Research and Development Paper Awards 2020.
He has already led several mango research studies.
BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis has been pushing for sustainable innovations and researches like in mango production.
“The innovations and researches we are doing in BPSU will mean nothing if these do not reach end users”, he earlier said.
BPSU is known to have a dynamic research and extension office.
Bataan 2nd district Cong. Joet Garcia recognizing the impact of BPSU’s researches on mango production currently leads the creation of Bataan Mango Development Council together with the university and other concerned agencies like the Provincial Agriculture Office.
The congressman already organized series of virtual meetings with the agencies to establish the council.
