DOJ targets zero backlog

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Despite being under manned, the Provincial Prosecutor’s office is targeting a zero backlog before the year ends.

This was revealed by Provincial Prosecutor Angelito Lumabas who said they had been able to declog the thick files of criminal cases, resolving more than 1,300 cases in just 10 months, optimistic that they can resolve around 1,700 cases before the year ends.  

Prosecutor Lumabas said that since he assumed his position in November 2013 they have been able to resolve an average of 125 cases per month. With only five prosecutors detailed here, each of us is resolving at least 25 cases per month.”

 “We are committed to resolve with dispatch all the cases lodged before our office and we are targeting to resolve all the cases filed in my office,” vowed  Lumabas.
