The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has initiated a new venture in Mariveles, with the inauguration of a Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) kiosk at the Watchlife Pasalubong Center.

This kiosk is designed to serve as a showcase for a variety of CARP products from Bataan, offering Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) a platform to reach their intended markets. Eileen Ocampo, the DTI OIC-Provincial Director, underscored the significance of aiding the pasalubong center in promoting CARP products to enhance sales and support the livelihood of ARBs. She further highlighted the crucial role of collaborative efforts between government agencies and local businesses in fostering the growth and success of ARBs, not just in Bataan, but across the region as well.

In addition, Jeypy Ocampo, DTI Bataan’s Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist, revealed that there are currently four CARP kiosks operating within the province. He elaborated that the launch of the CARP kiosk at Watchlife Pasalubong Center was accompanied by the provision of a panaflex signage and a product catalog to draw in more customers.

Lastly, the DTI has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Watchlife Workers Multipurpose Cooperative to bolster micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This agreement facilitates MSMEs’ access to designated spaces for displaying and selling their CARP products, promotes the DTI’s CARP program through various communication channels, and provides necessary guidance and support to participating MSMEs to expand their businesses.
