Secretary William Dar of the Department of Agriculture (DA) was guest of honor in the launching of the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA) program held at the Dinalupihan Multipurpose Center last Monday, February 3.
Gov. Abet Garcia, Mayor Gila Garcia, and Land Bank of the Philippines officials graced the event.
In his message to the farmers from Bataan, Pampanga and Zambales, Sec. Dar said that the DA is bringing more aid to farmers affected by the low-buying price of palay aside from the P5k financial assistance given to them at the RFFA launching.
Dar added that, as part of the response of the national government to assist farmers nationwide, most particularly those affected by the Rice Tarrification Law who are tilling 2 hectares of land and below are qualified and will receive cash card from the Land Bank of the Phil.
The Secretary clarified to the farmers that the RFFA is not a loan but an unconditional cash transfer to farmers affected by low-palay buying price in Bataan, Pampanga and Zambales.
Gov. Abet Garcia said that he is happy for the farmers of Bataan, Dinalupihan in particular, who received assistance from the government, hoping that they’ll be able to maximize the assistance and services to uplift their living condition.
