President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Engr. Emmanuel Pineda as one of the new undersecretaries of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

Pineda, who previously served as the administrator of the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), will join lawyer Randy Escolango, another DHSUD undersecretary, in implementing the government’s housing and urban development programs and projects.

Bataan 2nd District Rep. Abet Garcia congratulated Pineda on his new appointment, saying that it is a blessing for the province and the country to have a public servant like him who has compassion, dedication, integrity, and competence. Garcia also expressed his continued support for Pineda and the DHSUD under the leadership of Secretary Jose Rizalino “Jerry” Acuzar, especially in providing affordable and decent housing for Filipinos.

Pineda is an engineer by profession and has held various positions in the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan before becoming the AFAB administrator in 2016. He is also a recipient of several awards and recognitions for his outstanding performance and contributions to the development of Bataan and the country.
