WHAT used to be a grazing land for animals in Barangay Dona in Orani, Bataan is now the site of 1Bataan Integrated Training Center where barangay officials will be trained on disaster and rescue operations.
The grassy land of more or less 20 hectares abandoned after a debacle of a paper manufacturing company in early 2000s had become unproductive except a favorite grazing ground for goat and other domestic animals until the Provincial Government of Bataan turned it into a productive venture.
Bataan Gov. Abet Garcia said during last Thursday’s inauguration of twin buildings the training facilities will be available to host various seminars, training workshops, meetings and conferences on environment, safety and disaster preparedness training and other related activities.
Sen. Joel Villanueva who chipped in P50 million to the provincial government’s ambitious project said he admires the provincial leadership under Gov. Abet for the world-class facilities like the 1Bataan Command Center and the integrated training center.
“Ang pasilidad na ito ay pagpapatunay na binigyan tayo ng opurtunidad para sumagip ng buhay. Ako ay natutuwa na ako’y naging parte ng inyong buhay at kaunlaran,” said Sen. Villanueva during the inauguration. (This facilities prove that we are given a chance to save life. I’m glad I have been a part of your life and progress.)
