AboitizPower GMEC, GNPD empower Bataan youth

AboitizPower through GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin (GNPD) strengthened its commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection by leading a two-day capacity-building program for the youth associate members of the Tubo-tubo Fisherfolks Association on May 7–8, 2026.

Dubbed “Youth EcoSkills on Digital Literacy and Coastal Conservation,” the initiative was conducted at the Tubo-tubo Function Hall in Sitio Pulo to strengthen local Mangrove Adoption and Protection Projects.

In partnership with the LGU of Orani and the Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO), the energy firms spearheaded a specialized training curriculum aimed at transforming young participants into digitally skilled and environmentally conscious community leaders.

The program focused on four major areas including environmental stewardship, digital literacy, leadership development, and public speaking.

Organizers said that protecting mangrove ecosystems requires not only environmental awareness but also the ability to communicate using modern digital tools.

Through the initiative, AboitizPower, GMEC, and GNPD assured their commitment to advancing sustainable development in Bataan by investing in youth empowerment and environmental education.
