A pulmonary medical officer urges small and medium entrepreneurs to join in the rekindling of cottage industries and other high-quality exportable souvenir products with the expected influx of local and foreign visitors in the province.
Dr. Nazareno S. Salazar, a fellow of the Philippine College of Chest Physicians cited the relentless motivation of President Duterte and Bataan Governor Albert Garcia in continuously upgrading the province’s major road network and the development of historical and cultural sites including luxury beach resorts in Bagac, Morong and Mariveles towns are leading towards the burgeoning travel and tourism here.
Dr. Salazar has admonished the local tourism office of undertaking reintegration of more favorite destination spots and improvement of unique-locally produced foods and souvenir items which are definitely necessary to encourage visitors to spend more while appreciating the rich historical past and natures’ gift of the province.
He suggested local entrepreneurs to create distinctive products and other articles that can be manufactured by skilled artisans in the local communities such as world-class wood carvings depicting the heroism of the veterans of the last World War ll ,fabrics and delicacies that can be easily transported when they completed their sightseeing tours of the premier sites.
The expansion of shopping malls which definitely attract visitors and bring home rare souvenirs to further spur economic growth, create jobs and propels Bataan to become a top tourist destination in the country , Dr. Salazar said.
