Mangrove center to rise in Bataan

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Three professors from this Province’s State University (Bataan Peninsula State University-PBSU) paid a courtesy call this morning to Gov. Abet S. Garcia. Engr. Butch Baluyot of the Provincial Planning and Development Office joined the three in an exploratory talk aimed at establishing a mangrove rehabilitation and conservation center.

Mr. Romualdo de Guzman, Jr.- Associate Director, Auxiliary and Entrepreneurial Services of BPSU Abucay Campus;  Mr. Hermogenes Paguia – Director, Extension Services of BPSU Main and Mr. Rudy Flores – VP, Research, Extension & Auxiliary Services also of BPSU Main detailed their ongoing programs and activities on the rehabilitation and conservation of mangroves in the province with emphasis on sustainability and provision of livelihood for the residents and to also serve as a tourist attraction

The establishment of a mangrove center will streamline and complement the existing and ongoing projects and programs of the Provincial Government in partnership with several nongovernment organizations as well as that of BPSU’s.
