The Provincial Government of Bataan and the local chief executives of Orani, Pilar, Limay, Mariveles, and City of Balanga signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development represented by Assistant Secretary Daryll Bryan Villanueva on Monday, June 27, for the land development of 1Bataan Villages in the above-mentioned municipalities and city.

“Nagpapakita po ito ng ating pagbibigay prayoridad sa mga proyekto patungo sa ligtas at maayos na tahanan para sa ating mga kababayan,” Gov. Abet Garcia said during the groundbreaking ceremony and laying of time capsule in 1Bataan Village- Orion.

1Bataan Villages are government-funded housing projects which aim to provide safer shelters for Bataeño families, provide community facilities, amenities and government services closer to them.

According to Governor Abet, this is one of the ways to reduce Bataan’s carbon footprint as schools, sources of livelihood, and markets are near their homes.

A total of PHP 110 Million is already allocated for the land development of five (5) 1Bataan Villages, a Sewage Treatment Plant for 1Bataan Village-Orion, a community market for 1Bataan Village- Balanga, and a covered court for 1Bataan Village-Limay.

“Ang binubuo po natin dito ay mga pangarap ng bawat pamilya,” DHSUD Assistant Secretary Daryll Bryan Villanueva said as he thanked the Provincial Government of Bataan, Ayala Land Corp. and City land Corp. for their collective contribution to these projects.

In its commitment to provide opportunities to families as they continue to provide homes, a DHSUD marker was unveiled in Orion while a ribbon-cutting ceremony of the DHSUD office took place at the 3rd floor of The Bunker in Balanga City.
