DINALUPIHAN, Bataan- The once perennial flooding problem in this flood-prone town had been resolved with the strict implementation of various flood control projects launched jointly by the local government here and the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Governor Abet S Garcia and Mayor Gila Garcia gave priority on the once insoluble problem of flash floods in this town, pouring in funds for it, under close supervision, in their bid to solve the flooding during rainy season here.

The lady mayor had been braving perilous flash floods to personally assist her constituents and at the same time distribute relief goods and ready-to-eat food packages.

DPWH 1st District Engineer Magrara “Rocky” Dimalawang, also reported that his office was able to implement P13.40 million flood control projects, particularly the concrete revetment of 1,508.22 lineal meters along the Colo river in Layac, benefiting the barangays of Colo, Naparing, San Benito, Magsaysay and Layac.

“We hope this structure will lessen if not solve the flooding in this town,” said Engr Dimalawang.
