Sports organizer hails Bataan hosting of Challenge Philippines

 During the event dubbed as one of the toughest triathlons in Asia, over 700 athletes and sports enthusiasts from 40 countries flocked Morong and Bagac in Bataan, and Subic in Zambales.

Fausto told local newsmen that even Shaik Nasser bin Hammad, the Prince of Bahrain who took the 130 kilometer swim-bike-run race expressed delight on the whole event and said this was the happiest triathlon he has joined ever.

Event organizers and tourism officials also commended Morong Municipal Mayor Jorge Estanislao and the whole municipality for the successful hosting of the swim-bike-run race.

Tourism officers also lauded the local government for fast reconstruction of roads and deployment of personnel.

Also, CP authorities said the foreign athletes enjoyed the cheers and lyre bands of elementary students along the stretch of the race.

Also lauded for their support were the Bataan Police Provincial Office headed by Senior Superintendent Audie Atienza, Special Forces and the Philippine Army of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Department of Education led by Dr. Tarcilla Javier, and the respected province, city and municipal rescue councils involved.
