CITY of BALANGA , Bataan – All roads lead to the Divine Mercy Shrine function hall at the Roman Highway, this City as the Philippine Women’s University (PWU) holds this morning its First Inter High School National Skills Competition (preelimination phase, provincial level). This event is one of the highlights of PWU’s 96th founding anniversary celebration in February 2015.
The competition will not only showcase the academic prowess of graduating high school students from all over the province but also foster camaraderie, sportsmanship and fellowship among the participants.
Each competing school formed a team composed of 5 participants and 3 alternates. Of the twenty (20) competing secondary schools from the 11 municipalities and 1 city of the province, eight (8) schools will qualify to compete in the elimination phase (challenge test). The winner in this phase will represent the province in the national competition to be held at the main campus of the Philippine Women’s University in Taft Ave., Manila.
The top 8 schools will receive cash prizes, plaques of recognition and certificates of participation. Transportation, snacks, lunch and T-shirts of the participants and their coaches are provided by PWU.
The grand winner in the national level will receive a cash prize of P100,000. The school will also receive an equivalent cash prize.
