PEMSEA commends Bataan’s ICM programs

Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA) Country Programme Manager Ms. Daisy Padayao lauded Bataan’s Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) programs led by the Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) during the re-orientation on the State of the Coasts (SOC) reporting system held virtually last February 23, 2021.

Highlighting the key achievements of the province, PG-ENRO Technical Staff Karen June Balbuena gave an assurance that program implementation on the developments in coastal system in the province will continue with emphasis on further improving the interventions for pollution reduction and waste management beneficial to Bataeños, as they identify and fill the gaps after the first SOC report of the Province.

Committed to publish the second SOC report by 2022 for the period 2016-2020, Bataan PG-ENRO is in the process of completing the necessary processes from data gathering to validation by June 2021 up to finalization. The first SOC report of the province was published in 2017 for the 2000-2015 period.
