Two (2) multi-purpose evacuation centers are set to rise in the municipalities of Orani and Samal as the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) allocated Php 50 million for each local government unit and held a groundbreaking ceremony and turnover of checks yesterday, April 15.
Bataan Governor Abet Garcia together with PAGCOR Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility James Patrick Bondoc, PAGCOR Community Relations & Services Assistant Vice President Ramon Villaflor, First District Representative Congresswoman Geraldine Roman, Orani Mayor Bondjong Pascual, and Samal Mayor Aida Macalinao led the event.
Representing PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo was PAGCOR Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility James Patrick Bondoc who said that these projects were pushed through because there are enough data that show both municipalities need typhoon-resilient evacuation centers.
Said soon-to-rise centers are located in the former St. Patrick School, Arellano St. Brgy. Mulawin in Orani and near Samal National High School- Annex, Adamson, Brgy. Gugo in Samal.
