PGB rolls out Bataeno pass

The Provincial Government of Bataan recently launched the Bataeño Pass in early 2025, a unified digital ID system designed to speed up and simplify access to various government services. The card can serve as a primary identification when obtaining documents such as barangay clearances, certificates of residency, and other local transactions. It has already started being used in some barangays and schools to streamline service processes.

According to Provincial Information Office Head, Angel Lara, the Bataeño Pass helps reduce repetitive paperwork, shorten lines, and ensure accurate and timely delivery of services to residents. It combines a physical ID with a digital profile featuring a QR code for more efficient verification of information.

Distribution and integration with local government services are still ongoing as the program continues to expand across the province.

Published reports so far focus more on the purpose and benefits of the card rather than step-by-step application procedures.

Bringing a valid ID and proof of residency is recommended while waiting for the province’s full rollout and official application guidelines.

Governor Joet Garcia said this program is part of Bataan’s broader digitalization efforts to provide more efficient public services.
