Pilar regulates operation of computer shops, junk shops, selling of liquor

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bataan, during its recent session, approved three (3) municipal ordinances passed by the Sangguniang Bayan of Pilar sponsored by BM Benjie Serrano and read by BM Noel Valdecañas.

Municipal Ordinance No. 14, series of 2019 prohibits the establishment and operation of computer rentals/internet shops offering on-line and off-line computer games within the 100 meter-radius from any public and private educational institution in the municipality for these entice students to skip classes.

While Municipal Ordinance No. 15 series of 2019 entitled, “An Ordinance prohibiting the drinking and selling of liquor and other alcoholic beverages in any business establishment within fifty (50) meters from the National Road, (Sta Rosa to Bantan Munti), JJ Linao National Road (Flaming Sword), Panilao to Pantingan and the Roman Super highway (Ala uli) in the Municipality of Pilar” aims to prevent, suppress and impose penalties for habitual drunkenness and other such activities in public places, for the welfare and best interest and morals of the people in the municipality.

On the other hand, Municipal Ordinance No. 17, series of 2019 regulates the operation of junk shops and similar establishment and individuals engaged in buying metal scraps, old newspapers, cartons, plastic materials, discarded household wares and similar objects with monetary value, within the Municipality of Pilar.
Said Ordinance, aims to prevent and minimize obnoxious materials and hazardous chemicals from being dispersed in the municipality that may affect the health and welfare of the general public.
