BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Senator Grace Poe distributed relief goods to flood-stricken families in Bataan.

“I was not able to get here immediately because of the on and off bad weather. But I tell you once I learned that Bataan was severely affected by typhoon and flooding, I know I have to go here. My late father FPJ loved you very much. How many films he had shot here?”, the senator told in vernacular to cheering local residents in Barangay Dona Francisca, this city on Thursday.

The senator was welcomed by local officials led by Cong. Joet Garcia, Vice Gov. Cris Garcia, Mayor Francis Garcia, and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon.

One thousand bags of relief goods were distributed to beneficiaries in this city containing rice, noodles, and canned products.

The senator also distributed relief goods to flood victims in Abucay and Hermosa towns.

Dubbed “Ang Panday Bayanihan Relief Distribution”, Poe’s Digital Media Head Atty. Mary Grace C. Panganiban-Mendoza said the senator is using personal money and not government fund for the project.

Bataan was close to the late FPJ because his father was saved during Death March by an old woman from Sta. Rosa, Pilar. The old Poe hid under the old woman’s skirt.

On the other hand, Mariveles with its picturesque surrounding and stunning rock formations, was a favorite shooting location for FPJ.
