Rep. Roman pushes for stronger consumer protection in energy sector

Bataan 1st District Representative Tony Roman underscored the need for stronger safeguards for Filipino energy consumers during a recent hearing of the House Committee on Energy.

Roman highlighted the importance of establishing the Energy Advocacy Counsel Office (EACO), an office that will provide legal assistance to consumers facing electricity-related concerns. He explained that EACO will offer “faster and more specialized legal support” making it easier for ordinary citizens to assert their rights and seek redress. “As we push for reforms, our goal is to ensure a clearer, quicker, and fairer process for every Filipino family,” Roman said. The Bataan lawmaker wants to strengthen public protection and ensure equitable service delivery in the power industry.
