Roman authors 20 House Bills

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES – Bataan 1st district’s neophyte congresswoman Geraldine B. Roman has so far authored 20 House Bills. This was confirmed through her Facebook Page’s post last Saturday (September 10).

“Our fight for “Equality” does not just pertain to gender identity. It is also about  universal health care. According to the Philippine Constitution, ‘The State shall protect and promote the right to health of the people and instill health consciousness among them,’” she said.

 

Last June 30 of this year, Roman introduced a bill (HB 00268 or “AN ACT ESTABLISHING A CANCER TREATMENT CENTER IN EVERY REGION IN THE PHILIPPINES AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR) that seeks to establish a Cancer Treatment Center in every region in the country.

 

She said she hopes to save lives by finding ways to reduce the costs of specialized treatment and palliative care, which will give cancer patients from different income levels an equal chance to avail of cancer-related services.

On Monday, September 19, Rep. Roman is set for a formal presentation and launching of HB 00267 at the Plenary Hall at4p.m.
