Samal town: emerging investors’ preference

SAMAL, Bataan – This once sleepy town, formerly known for its notoriety as NPA rebels’ breeding ground, is now the emerging investors’ preference in Bataan.

This was learned from Municipal Mayor Generosa “Gene” Malibiran-Dela Fuente  who said that two more giant companies- a foreign-owned and a Filipino controlled firms,  are set to put up shop in this town this month, giving more employment and income to the town.

According to the lady mayor, a foreign firm engages in a waste recovery facility that recycles bunker oil owned by a New Zealand-based company is now on the process of opening up their branch here which recently purchased 3 hectares of land in Barangay Ibaba.

“They already confirmed that the company will start operating this month and in fact, the management team will visit here again next week in preparation for its opening,” pointed out Mayor dela Fuente.

The second company is Brightfield Agribusiness, a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation, which she said recently started its construction of high-end, tunnel vent poultry houses also in Barangay Ibaba.

“I am offering my town to investors to pour in their investment here, they will be loved by the local leaders and people here,  no problem in dealing with us, since we are friendly aside from offering amenities to them,” said the lady mayor.

She said that this is in line with Gov. Abet S Garcia’s vision to create more investment and job opportunities. “I told the people here not to sell their lands in exorbitant prices to help the investors put up their companies here since they will, in return, provide employment and income here,” added dela Fuente.
