SGC opens English hub for Korean students in Bataan

Bataan is the new English hub for hundreds of Korean university students who are participating in the English Winter Camp of Subic Global Center (SGC), a partner of Bataan Peninsula State University in offering English proficiency programs for Asian students.

SGC will provide the said students group and individual English proficiency classes, tours and recreational activities in the province, and interaction with Filipino university students in Balanga City.

Students from Ulsan University, Hankyong National University, Munkyung College, Changwon National University, Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Engineering Organization, Dankook University, and Munkyung College are supervised by English camp teachers who are graduates of Bataan Peninsula State University, Asia-Pacific College of Advanced Studies, and Tomas del Rosario College. Sixty-five (65) teachers were hired and trained to teach English to Asian students for the Winter Camp that started last December 26, 2022 and will end on February 24, 2023.

These teachers will also be preparing for the upcoming Summer English proficiency camp.

By launching the English proficiency camp in Bataan, SGC opens a dynamic workplace for enthusiastic teachers.

In an interview with SGC President Ms. Jeemin Lee, she said that she’s anticipating more students in the succeeding camps and looking forward to hiring more teachers from Bataan.

She added that the support of BPSU, the City of Balanga, and the Province of Bataan keeps her positive that the English proficiency camps will be productive and memorable for both the students and the teachers.
