Silo heads task force unit venue for 11th ASEAN meeting

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – The police leadership here headed by Chief Supt. Amador V Corpus, regional police director, are now on their final preparations to ensure the safety of the world leaders when they arrive in the country for a world summit.

Dubbed as the “11th ASEAN Defense Ministers Meeting (ADMM),”  the ” PRO3 TG Clark” top police officials held recently a two-day contingency planning at the Air Force Officer’s Club, Clarkfield, Pampanga  to test the security preparations, operational readiness and adequacy of resources for said event.

Designated as Commander of the “Task force unit venue” is Sr. Supt. Atty Benjamin Silo, Jr., incumbent Bataan police director. “More than 300 foreign delegates will be attending here, so we are carefully planning security measures aimed at ensuring the smooth flow of the summit,” said Col. Silo.

Sr. Supt. Enrico Vargas, chief of police of the host city of Angeles, said that they are meeting daily to map out plans to further ensure the safety of the world leaders who will come here.

General Corpus said that Contingency Planning is very important and are being done specifically for major events because failing to plan means planning to fail. Through this contingency planning, the availability of financial, human and material resources is ensured.”

Practical exercises are being done by members of the TG “Clark” for them to be ready for unexpected events.

Prior to this, two consecutive Convoy Travel Dry Runs were already conducted by PNP PRO3 along Clark/SCTEX/NLEX as part of the tight security preparations being undertaken.

Meanwhile, as early as October 20, PNP personnel will already be deployed within the summit venues and areas where the delegates will be billeted to ensure their safety and security, Corpus added.
