The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) unanimously approved a resolution authorizing Governor Abet Garcia to enter into a joint venture agreement with Eurekare Corp. for the finance, design, development, operation and maintenance of the Bataan Healthcare Smartcard system in the province.

Pursuant to relevant laws and an ordinance passed by the SP in 2013, in a public hearing conducted last January 2020 attended by the President of Eurekare, Atty. Joey Angeles, head of the PPP Investment Center, heads of the different public hospitals in Bataan and other stakeholders, Eurekare presented the proposal while Atty. Angeles gave a rundown of the procedure followed by an extensive discussion, wherein it was clarified that said project will be beneficial to the province and its constituents through the delivery of health services.

On the basis of the foregoing, BM Jomar Gaza, Chair of the Committee on Human Rights, Justice and Legal Matters respectfully recommended the issuance of such resolution subject to the relevant laws, rules and regulations in the province of Bataan.
