PILAR, Bataan – Around 10,000 spectators watched the longest, grandest, and most spectacular fireworks display held at the Government Center, this town, according to Sr. Supt. Benjie Silo, who from the start to the end, assured the people of the peace and order situation in the area.

GM Charlie Pizarro of the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) said that they have already expected the influx of the crowd, so they have set up a blockage a few meters away from the stage, private and public vehicles are not allowed to enter beyond that point so as not to create traffic. People especially children can walk freely and safely towards the platform without worrying, marshalls were there to see to it that the peace and order is maintained.

When the fireworks display started at 9pm, people watching were all in awe, clapping and amazed by how stunning the fireworks were. Children were jumping and cheering with joy while grownups were busy taking pictures, videos and of course, selfie!

After the exhibition, we had the chance to interview the people who watched and they said that this is the longest and most beautiful fireworks that they have seen in Bataan, which lasted for 25 minutes. Children mentioned that they enjoyed the different colors and designs, and wish that it could happen again.

The pyrotechnics display was a donation of Kenji Mori, a Japanese philanthropist and a professor of the Department of Green Computing System Research Organization at Wasida University of Japan and Professor Emeritus at the Tokyo Institute of Technology of Japan Department of Computer Science, who said that this is in honor of the soldiers/veterans of World war II, in line with the commemoration of the Araw ng Kagitingan.
