2000 students sign SPES contract

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Two thousand Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) beneficiaries signed their contract during the SPES Orientation and Contract Signing held on Friday at the Bataan People’s Center.

The beneficiaries will work for 20 days in either a Local Government Unit (LGU) or private sector, where 60% of their wage will come from the employer, while the remaining 40% will be provided by the Department of Labor and Employment.

DOLE’s share can be claimed by presenting a copy of their Certificate of Registration, Student’s Enrollment Form, or Official Receipt to avoid falsification. It will be given in a form of check which can be encashed in any branch of Landbank of the Philippines.

Meanwhile the beneficiaries, being minors, were obliged to bring their parents or guardians for their consent in the contract. Those who failed to bring one were allowed to bring home the documents for the signature of their parent or guardian provided they produce an Affidavit of Guardianship.
