2014 ASPBI and STEP stakeholders’ forum held

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan Provincial Statistical Services Office conducted the 2014 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) and 2014 Survey of Tourism Establishments in the Philippines (STEP) Stakeholders Forum at the Crown Royale Hotel this City, last April 29.

More than 30 managers, accountants, bookkeepers, staff from different sample establishments all over Bataan participated in the activity. Ms. Amelita E. Canare of Bataan Tourism Office served as the activity’s guest speaker for 2014 STEP. The other speakers were Provincial Statistics Officer Ledesma L. Morante and PSA Bataan Staff, Francisco P. Corpuz,, Jessie V. Garcia and Richard T. Guevara.

The Stakeholders’ Forum aims to disseminate the result of previous censuses and surveys – the 2012 Census of Philippine Business and Industry and 2009 Survey on Tourism and Establishments in the Philippines, and to build relationships with the sample establishments through occasional assemblies. Most importantly, the forum provides venue to discuss the survey questionnaires and clarify items in the survey to generate accurate data.

The 2014 ASPBI is a nationwide undertaking confined to the formal sector of the economy in 2014 and as such excludes the informal sector. The 2014 STEP aims to collect the information on the available supply of tourism goods, products and services. Distribution of Questionnaires started last April 22, 2015. Collection of survey questionnaires which started on May 4, 2015, may be through personal visit of PSA staff and hired statistical researchers or by use of online facility https://aspbi.psa.gov.ph and https://step.psa.gov.ph.
