BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The six days Galing Bataan Trade Fair which started April 4 until April 9, has exceeded last year’s sales performance, according to Ms. Nelin Cabahug, DTI-Bataan Provincial Director.
Ms. Cabahug said that although they were expecting a 10% increase in sales, they are still happy that they’re able to transcend their sales performance.
Even at the opening program of the trade fair, Ms. Cabahug already said that this year’s trade fair is a challenge on the part of DTI and the tourism foundation because the 2017 sales was rather high that they were able to generate P1,088,410 participated by 41 SMEs.
For this year, about 42 SMEs participated, 27 food stalls and 15 non-food, generating P1,142,268 in sales. But what is more important, according to DTI head, is the need to expose Galing Bataan products, to develop more SMEs and to strengthen their product developments.
Likewise, Cabahug said that they are continuously ushering measures among our entrepreneurs to become engines of growth, that they’ve always believed that the best way for a business to grow is when opportunities are seized.
The basic fundamental platform of this growth, according to DTI is the linkage with large businesses, understanding inclusive growth and the linkage to global exposure via trade fairs, benchmarking and others.
Lastly Cabahug acknowledged the different activities held at the Plaza mayor that largely contributed to the sales.
