BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Exactly one and a half months after the launching of the “Kapatid Mentor Me” program of DTI Bataan last May 26, 2017, 23 mentees are now graduating.
Bataan DTI head Ms. Nelin Cabahug said that right after the launching, the 23 selected entrepreneurs were briefed on the 10 modules that they had to learn each week to have a deeper knowledge on their business such as business model canvass, marketing, values chain, product development, operations management, financial and accounting management, taxation and business law.
It was not easy, according to the mentees because what the mentors have learned for so many years were taught to them for only several weeks. Cabahug added that what the mentees have learned will be presented to a set of panelists to certify whether they are now ready for graduation; the panelists composed of representatives from the banking or lending microfinance institutions, DTI officials and Kapatid Mentors, the likes of Ms. Zena Sugatain, Ms. Amanda Battad, Ms. Liza Reyes, Mr. Brian Joseph Banzon, Ms. Teresita Dimaculangan to name a few.
During their graduation, the mentees were really overjoyed like Mr. Dominico, who said that “akala ko okey na ang business ko, nang masabak ako sa mentor me program, marami pa pala akong kulang, salamat sa DTI, ang dami kong natutunan.”
While Ms. Edith Capili of Inagloria Food Enterprise said that, she’s happy that the panelists were very satisfied in her presentation regarding her business plan, marketing, target and others.
The graduation was simple yet the message given by Ms. Teresita Dimaculangan from the Center of Entrepreneurship is not just focused on business, it is on the mindset that the mentees need to possess, which is to have a mastery of 3 things; about yourself, about the business environment and your product, to adopt in the market, to address the need of the market, for this is a life changing entrepreneurship, stressed Dimaculangan.
In closing, Cabahug thanked all the mentees and the mentors for achieving their goal and even assured that they will still be in touch to monitor how the mentees will implement their respective plans of action and how their businesses have grown.
