5th Bataan OFW Family Day Celebration kicks off!

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Bataan OFW Family Circle Federation (BOFCF) held the 5th OFWs Family Day with the theme: “OFW Families Called for 1Bataan” yesterday, November 27 at the Bataan People’s Center, this city.

Ms. Imelda Desales – BOFCF President said that they regularly celebrate this event because this unites the OFW families. She also presented the accomplishments of the BOFCF like the estimated 200 OWWA scholars. They also conducted seminars on livelihood, hairdressing, massage, in cooperation with TESDA.

Governor Abet Garcia, in his message, thankfully acknowledged the contribution of the OFWs to the economy of the province. He even assured the (BOFCF) of the full support of the provincial government in their programs and projects.

Gov. Abet also informed the group that “The Bunker” will serve as the ONE-STOP-SHOP, especially for the OFWs, for government transaction needs like passport processing, PSA Birth Certificate, Visa processing, etc.

The governor said hopefully by the first quarter of 2019, “The Bunker” will be operational and ready to serve all the Bataeños. He also encouraged the audience to visit the hotjobsbataan.com, website for job openings locally and internationally.

Also present in the event were Cong. John Bertiz of ACTS-OFW Partylist; PESO-Bataan Head, Mr. Melchor Cui, and DOLE-Bataan Head, Ms. Leilani Reynoso.
