Bataan cooperatives, entrepreneur’s night held

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – One event to kick-off the 75^th Araw ng Kagitingan is this year’s Bataan cooperatives and entrepreneur’s night, held yesterday, April 3, at Plaza Mayor de Balanga.

The said event started with a doxology performed by Pilar MCDC and Lingap Kapwa MPC, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the Cooperative Hymn. Afterwards, the cooperative pledge was led by Mr. Edmundo D. Engao (PCDS, CDA-Bataan).

One highlight of this event is this year’s search for Ms. Hebigat, and the contestants are as follows: Jesusa Uy Capuli of Balsik H/S T & E MPC (Hermosa), Jocelyn G. Perez of Kabalikat MPC (Balanga City), Hazel Ann C. Data of Sampaguita RIC MPC (Orani), Mariane Y. De Leon of Morong MPC, and Jovelyn S. Gayem of Peoples MPC (Mariveles). They started with their presentation number, then the sportswear modeling, the talent portion, the casual wear modeling, and the question and answer portion.

In between those Ms. Hebigat segments are the presentations of the Abucay MCDC, Orani MCDC, Limay MCDC, Mariveles BAFNOFMAI, Bagac MCDC, and Dinalupihan MCDC. Also, there was a tribute to the Veterans through a poem made by Mr. Romeo Manalili of Pablo Roman HS MPC, and inspirational messages from Gov. Albert S. Garcia, Atty. Anne Lorraine Inton of BPTCFI, and Ms. Marieta P. Hwang (Regional Director, CDA-PEO).

The following composed the board of judges for the search for Ms. Hebigat: Dir. Marieta P. Hwang (Regional director, Cooperative Development Authority), Ms. Rosalie Ona (Provincial Science and Technology Officer, DOST-Bataan), Ms. Charlene Versoza (Ms. Bataan 2016 – Ambassadress of Investment and Industry), Ms. Lana San Miguel – Rivas (Proprietor, Saverde Coffee Shop), and Ms. Amanda T. Battad (Bataan Chamber of Commerce and Industry).

The tabulators were Mr. Eduardo C. De Mesa (Supervising Cooperative Development Specialist) and Mr. Geoffrey C. Loyola (Department Head, Management Information Systems Office). After the scores have been tabulated, here are the results:

Awards were given to the winners by Board Member Jose Villapando Sr. along with sponsors, members of board of judges, and BCDC officers.
