Annual ‘MoTurista’ for tourism pushed

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Balanga City Councilor Vic Baluyot said he will push “MoTurista” to be held annually to invite participants from Central Luzon and to further promote this city as a tourism destination.

The Balanga City Tourism Office and Barangay Tortugas successfully held on Saturday the “MoTurista” event, a fun ride for motorcycle enthusiasts aiming to promote tourism as well as to protect the environment.

The route started at Plaza Mayor de Balanga to Balanga City Wetland Park and Nature Park in Tortugas and back to the Palza Mayor. The event was actually part of the Learning Barangay Week Program in Tortugas.

The fun ride attracted a good number of motorcycle riders in the city inspiring the councilor to think bigger for the event.

“We will invite motorcycle riders from Central Luzon, and make this an annual event to further promote local tourism”, the councilor said.

Prior to his election as city councilor, Baluyot was three-term barangay captain of Tortugas.  He became president of Balanga City Association of Barangay Captains and sat at the city council as an ex-officio member.

Tortugas was several times chosen as best barangay in the city under his leadership.
