BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The newly-inducted president of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) sponsored Bataan Energy Press Corps (BEPC) is appealing to media practitioners and the public to undertake solid and collective measures in disseminating the right information to safeguard power supply to the Bataan peninsula which is the emerging eco-industrial hub not only in Central Luzon but in Luzon as well.
In his acceptance speech, Michael Rivero Cigaral, a veteran broadcast journalist and foremost writer of 1Bataan website, the first president of the BEPC, the newly-organized print and broadcast media organization in Bataan stressed the significant role of media as reliable partners of Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia in promoting his systematic and progressive socio-economic development scheme towards profitable growth .
Cigaral explained as a responsible journalist, the members of the fourth estate should be accurate, truthful, objective and impartial in asserting the government vision to achieve its goal of sustainable economic progress for the welfare of the residents.
A staunch advocate of press freedom and development information overseer, Cigaral cited the public demands indisputable trust and confidence from media practitioners for a more cohesive and sharing productive and lasting undertakings.
Cigaral reminisced on the undisputable healthy union between local mediamen and the late Bataan governor and representative Enrique T. Garcia,Jr. as the most memorable stage of excellent public relations category ever in the province which truly motivated media to extend unswerving support to the development initiatives of the late provincial leader for the betterment of the heroic peninsula.
The NGCP transmission lines and towers are dynamic components in conveying the engine of growth to the countryside and all responsible media practitioners and residents should participate in the activities of protecting those structures for the benefit of the people and industries, Cigaral added.
