BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A former communication officer of the Office of the President is extremely amazed by the remarkable transformation of the historic peninsula from an agriculturally-based province into an industrial investment hub.
Cesar Villa, Zambales communication officer of defunct National Media Production Center (NMPC) has observed the fantastic socio-economic trend and industrial growth in Mariveles, Limay and Hermosa towns during his short stint in the huge Freeport Area of Bataan complex the other day.
Villa, who flew to Canada after the EDSA revolution in 1986, has firmly believed the good governance posture and effective implementation of strategic development plans intellectually crafted by the late Governor and Representative Enrique T. Garcia, Jr. focusing on exploring the opportunity to achieve business friendly atmosphere for Bataan despite strong entrepreneurial competition in Central Luzon area.
While enhancing the productive economic fundamentals, local government officials and technocrats are also optimistic the province will sustain its economic growth, Villa said.
The registered favorable statistical evolution index is the outcome of the continued expansion of power generating plants, communication and port terminal facilities, availability of skilled manpower, conducive business environment with fiscal and non-fiscal incentives and others that served as vital components which highly-motivated multi-national firms to relocate their manufacturing facilities in six export processing zones in Bataan.
