“Mga ibong banyaga, lungsod na mapagkalinga”

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Anchored on the theme, “Mga Ibong Banyaga, Lungsod na Mapagkalinga, the 8^th Ibong Dayo Festival was a huge success.  Students, teachers, local government officials, members of NGOs, bikers club, bird enthusiasts and guests from as far as Sorsogon City gamely joined the parade from the Plaza Mayor de Balanga up to the Balanga City Wetland and Nature Park in Brgy. Tortugas.

Mayor Francis Garcia’s warm welcome was followed by a series of musical and dance numbers provided by the Koro Bangkal and the winners in the different contests held the day before.

Also present in the event are Mr. Nino Cristobal Selivio from the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA), 2^nd district Congressman Jose Enrique Garcia III, Vice Governor Cris Garcia, Mrs. Victoria Garcia, Mrs. Racquel Garcia, Mrs. Isabel Garcia, Brgy. Chairman Rogelio de Guzman, Mrs. Techie Banzon (Provincial Tourism Office), Department heads of the City Government of Balanga and the Provincial Government of Bataan, and Mayor Sally Lee of Sorsogon City.
