CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Officers and members of the Multisectoral Governance Coalition (MSGC) of Bataan and Balanga City gathered in a night of good food, good music and dancing for a cause at the Emiliana Hall in this City last Friday, June 8.
Created as an essential element of the Province’s Performance Governance System, the MSGC is a strategic partner of the province in ensuring sustainability and continuity of the transformation agenda of Bataan.
Uniquely and aptly titled “Independance from malnutrition”, with the celebration of the country’s independence day just a couple of days away, the event is a clear manifestation of the coalition’s unwavering commitment to guarantee the implementation of the continuous and sustainable transformation programs that are aligned to the overall strategies leading to the attainment of Bataan’s Vision that “by 2020, Bataan Province will have the lowest poverty incidence resulting from quality growth attaining top-level Human Development Index in the Philippines.”
No less than the local chief executive of the province, Governor Albert S. Garcia and Vice Governor Cris Garcia led the attendees composed of heads of the different departments of the city and provincial governments; representatives of Orica Philippines led by Engr. John Philip de Jesus, the Chairman of MSGC-Bataan, major locators and other stakeholders in the Province in dancing the night away with music provided by Musikology led by Mr. Johann Buensuceso
Said dinner dance is an initiative of the MSGC-Bataan wherein the funds raised will be used for a community-based food assistance program, “COMBAT Malnutrition!” (COMmunity-BAsed Tactics vs. Malnutrition) in Brgy. Salian in Abucay where there is a high incidence of malnutrition. Target beneficiaries are 36-71 months old underweight and severely underweight children.
