BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Going by what our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal said, “Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan”, the youth must be aware of what is happening in the present to be able to plan for a better future.
This is why the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) – Bataan conducted a seminar on Population Awareness and Family Life Orientation on October 29, 2018 at the Lou-is Restaurant, this city. The participants were the representatives from the Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines – Bataan Chapter.
Ms. Rosanna Verdida of Population Commission (POPCOM) Bataan discussed the importance of population awareness to every one, especially the youths. Ms. Verdida also discussed the programs of POPCOM like the Philippine Population Management Program.
As of 2015, the Philippine population rose to an estimated 101 million from 19.2 million in 1948, making us the 12th most populated country in the world.
Hon. Precious Manuel – Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Provincial President, said that they will be collaborating with the Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines – Bataan to launch a program that will help the youth of each municipality in Bataan to be more productive and ready for the future.
Meanwhile, Pastor Reynante Sabate, discussed the struggles of the youth in the society like acceptance and self trust and how to cope with it. He likewise underscored that when we commit a mistake, we should learn from it, and learn how to decide which is good and bad for you.
