The Provincial Veterinary Office recently received a plaque of recognition for being “Top Performing Province” (Rank 1) from the Department of Agriculture Regional Office.
Dr. Eduardo L. Lapuz, Jr., DA regional director, cited the office of Dr. Alberto Venturina, Bataan veterinary chief, for his performance in the 2025 programs, projects, and activities of the livestock program.
Venturina and his staff had been the beacon of light for hog raisers during the height of African swine fever that swept the Central Luzon provinces including Bataan in 2021 and 2022.
The PVO with the full support of LGUs and DA was able to ward off the effect of ASF and bird flu in affected villages of Bataan through proper coordination with barangay officials and affected hog farmers.
