AFAB participates in Singapore FinTech Festival 2025

In its bid to position the Freeport Area of Bataan as a growing digital and innovation hub in the region, the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) recently participated in the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) 2025 held at the Singapore EXPO. During the event, AFAB engaged with industry leaders, policymakers, and technology firms to explore emerging developments that align with Freeport’s goal of attracting  technology-driven enterprises

The Festival featured national pavilions, thematic exhibits, and technical sessions covering payment technologies, digital commerce tools, customer experience solutions, cybersecurity practices, open finance systems, and sustainability-linked financial products.

The AFAB delegation visited the Philippine Pavilion, where discussions highlighted updates on Google’s payment platforms, the role of digital solutions in enhancing customer engagement, and the practical application of green technologies within financial institutions.

Throughout the Festival, the delegation attended presentations, demonstrations, and industry discussions that provided deeper insight into how fintech companies evaluate potential expansion sites.

AFAB  team also took part in regional briefings on payment trends, investment flows in Southeast Asia, and evolving regulatory frameworks shaping the fintech sector.

AFAB stated  there was notable interest among participants in the event in learning more about opportunities in the Philippines.

Many noted the appeal of locations offering competitive logistics, a skilled workforce, and efficient regulatory processes at Bataan Freeport.

Insights gained from the Festival will support the AFAB continuing initiatives on digital readiness, sustainability, and investment promotion.
